Beauchief tees off Come Dine With Me special
One of Sheffield’s top golf courses will create a stir on Channel Four when it features on the nation’s favourite reality cooking show.
Beauchief Golf Course will appear on a footballers’ special of Come Dine With Me when ex-England player Frank Worthington introduces himself as a contestant on the show.
The episode, which will also feature the course as the backdrop during the menu reveals, is due to be aired to coincide with the World Cup and will see Frank go up against other football legends including former Owls star Carlton Palmer.
Come Dine With Me features four or five amateur chefs competing to host the best dinner party for the other contestants. Each competitor then rates the host's performance with the winner receiving a £1,000 cash prize, with celebrities donating the winnings to a charity of their choice.
Frank, who is originally from Halifax, won eight caps for England in his footballing career and played for a number of top flight teams including Leeds United, Birmingham City and Bolton Wanderers.

Beauchief, founded in 1925, is a picturesque course set in the historic grounds of Beauchief Abbey, offering golfers a 5,258 yard, Par 67 course.
As well as memberships, the course also operates on a pay and play basis which means members of the public can play a one off round with no ties, giving them a taste of the course before committing to a membership scheme.
Come Dine with Me follows a number of other high profile TV appearances for SIV, including the Sport Relief special of We are the Champions, which was filmed at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, and the 2009 Sports Personality of the Year event, which was hosted by SIV at the Sheffield Arena and iceSheffield.
